Boats
Gipsy Point Lodge is located on the Mallacoota Inlet, and perfectly situated for exploring this region of the Croajingolong National Park. The extensive waterways allow for safe boating, with many picnic areas and jetties . Bird and animal life abound, and a day out on the lake is a great way to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Our Hire Boats are ideal for exploring the waterways and fishing. They are 4.9 metre (16’) fibreglass, easy to handle, and all have electric start. We supply all safety equipment and maps, and familiarise you with the operation and navigation for an enjoyable and safe day out. A boat licence is not required. We accept Visa & M/card
Hire boats are $110 per day. including fuel.
We have our own jetties and boat ramp, with ample trailer parking areas and guests boats are welcome at no extra charge.
Canoes are also available for hire, and the upper reaches and backwaters of the Genoa and Wallagaraugh Rivers provide interesting areas to explore. All flotation jackets and maps are provided.
Canoes (Double Canadian) are $35 per day.
Fishing is very popular, with Black Bream and Dusky Flathead as the most common fish, along with Tailor, Perch, Garfish and even Mulloway. The Lodge can help with your fishing requirements, such as bait, licences, rods and local fishing advice.
A Wilderness Boat Cruise operates from Gipsy Point Main Wharf on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons, for a 2 1/2 hour cruise, viewing the wildlife and wonderful scenery.Bookings can be made via The Lodge, or direct with the operator, Capt. John Gerard on 0418 279 997. $35 per adult, afternoon tea provided.
